🏂 First-Time Smiles, Lasting Memories
The joy on students’ faces as they glide down the slopes for the first time is truly infectious! At Dagmar, our friendly, patient, and highly experienced instructors are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students. Whether it’s their first time or they’re building on existing skills, every child is supported and encouraged.
👨🏫 Inclusive, Skill-Based Instruction
We proudly teach students of all ages and abilities—no athletic background required! Skiing and snowboarding are inclusive winter sports that welcome children from all backgrounds, including those with special needs. Our beginner-friendly terrain features a Magic Carpet Lift (a moving conveyor belt) and wide-open Bunny Hill slopes. Every student begins their day with a group lesson and receives a color-coded terrain sticker to indicate where they can ski safely.
🎿 Personalized Group Lessons
At Dagmar, we believe in group instruction, not station-based teaching. Each group is assigned its own instructor, ensuring personalized attention and a supportive learning environment. After the lesson, students are monitored by our Ski Patrol to ensure they remain on appropriate terrain. Later in the day, students on the Bunny Hill will have the chance to upgrade their skills with a second evaluation by one of our Instructors and may even progress to more advanced slopes accessed by our chairlifts!
🏠 Warm Lodge & Great Food
Our family-friendly lodge offers a cozy space for students to warm up and enjoy delicious meals and treats from our cafeteria. Teachers can relax in the lounge while keeping an eye on students, thanks to large windows overlooking the beginner terrain.
🚌Flexible School Trips & After-School Clubs
Bring your students for a single-day adventure or watch them grow into confident skiers over multiple visits! Our after-school ski clubs are a popular option, with 5–6 evening sessions available.
Accessible Skiing and Snowboarding – Special Needs and Accommodations
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy skiing and snowboarding. For some, this means one-on-one instructor support; for others, it may require certified adaptive instructors and specialized equipment.
Skiing and snowboarding are high-risk sports involving speed, physical exertion, and dynamic environments. To ensure safety, it’s essential to communicate any support needs clearly and early in the registration process.
Additional or adaptive support may be needed for individuals with visual or physical impairments, or those who are neurodiverse or developmentally diverse. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, or Muscular Dystrophy.
Disclosing support needs during registration helps us assess how best to accommodate each guest and determine whether our setting is appropriate for a safe experience. Our instructors are not certified in CADS adaptive skiing or snowboarding. If adaptive instruction is required, we recommend contacting Canadian Adaptive Snowsports (CADS) at www.cadsontario.ca, which offers programs at eight partner locations in Ontario.
Safety is our top priority. In some cases, we may need to modify, decline, or cancel a registration or lift ticket if we determine that we cannot safely meet a guest’s needs—especially in group lessons. These decisions are made with safety in mind.
We ask for respectful communication at all times. Aggressive or disrespectful behavior toward staff will not be tolerated.
Let’s work together to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone on the slopes.
